What to Expect from A CT Scan
It's common for our team at Advanced Smiles to recommend a CBCT scan prior to placing dental implants, but this advanced technology can also detect a number of other oral issues, including temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ), bone loss, gum infections, issues with tooth roots, and more. To perform the scan, you'll simply relax in the exam chair, and your dental provider will ask you to remain still.
During a 20 – 40 second process, the machine will rotate around your head to capture several full-mouth images from various angles. Once the images are ready, Dr. De Paoli will be able to design your customized treatment plan for your implants or another oral procedure. The detailed images also provide our team with information regarding any potential complications ahead of time, allowing for a smoother treatment experience overall.
